Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Exam Apprenticeship Support

At Skipton Builders, we aim to help apprentices of all ages and back grounds towards achieving their Functional Skills Level 2 Maths qualification. In addition to helping students pass their exams, we can assist in booking the exam. If you did not achieve a GCSE Grade C/ Level 4, the Functional Skills Maths Level 2 qualification is useful as it is equivalent to a Maths GCSE grade. Gaining this qualification will be beneficial if you are looking to apply to routes of higher education but also to complete an apprenticeship in construction.

The Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Exam is split into two sections. The 30-minute non-calculator section and the 90-minute calculator section. The calculator section is worth the most marks overall, and while you do not need to get 100% in both sections, it is best to be well-prepared. The exam may differ from paper to paper as the content can range from probability to percentages. The main topic areas are: using numbers, common measures, shapes and space, and handling information and data.

The Functional Skills Maths Level 2 Exam is online. This means you can sit it from the comfort of your own home. You will need a laptop or computer, a working webcam, and a working microphone. There will be an Ofqual-regulated invigilator monitoring the exam; this is to ensure exam conditions are maintained.

Exam boards such as City & Guilds and Pearson (Edexcel) offer Functional Skills Level 2 Exams. To do the exam, you will need to register through the exam centre. Registering can be done online. The majority of exam centres only offer one exam board - the exam centre we recommend to our students offers a choice of examination bodies. Please carefully consider which exam board you want to take your exam with as they do have a couple of differences, such as; the speed of booking your exam, the speed of your results, the exam set-up, and the exam date availability. Having a range of exam boards ensures that your needs are met.

If you are looking for construction apprenticeship support in the Skipton area then contact Skipton Builders as we can help with all aspects of the end point assessment as well as the functional skills.
