Construction Apprenticeship Functional Skills

Skipton Builders are pleased to be involved with different apprenticeship schemes. The construction industry is in desperate need of new and enthusiastic workers to joining the declining workforce. As the demand for new homes continues to rise, the need for qualified tradesmen does also. We are also now in world where home improvements are more popular than ever which is adding to the pressure on the sector. Apprenticeships are a great way for young people to enter the industry and get paid whilst they train. However one of the main stumbling blocks for builders, joiners, electricians, plumbers and other construction workers which stops them from completing their apprenticeship is their functional skills.

Construction apprenticeship functional skills requirements are the same as all other apprenticeships. You need to have a GCSE grade C or level 4 in maths and English or a GCSE equivalent level 2 functional skills. At Skipton Builders we are pleased to work with Pass Functional Skills, the leading provider of functional skills support services. From Ofqual regulated exams to full course support they offer everything needed to help apprentices and their training providers, support their teams through functional skills.
